Can Access do what I need

I think Access might be better for me

I have been trying for sometime now to build my wife a data driven web site.
I believe I have looked into all my choices and have already tried a few.
I found MySQL to intimidating for me even with the help of PHPmyadmin.

I am comfortable with Access and while I know it isn’t the best for online
data driven web sites I think I am going to give it a try.

I am using Office XP and will probably upgrade to 2007 when it comes out.
Here is one question I hope this group can answer for me.

I will be the only one updating and editing the database. All I want is to
show selected contents of the database on her web site. However I have done
a good job on getting clients for her and have seen that her site can have up
to 10 visitors at a time. Not all day just for about an hour or so.

I am pretty confident that I can create a list to display in price order but
can I create something that would let the visitors do a search of their own.
Am I making a mistake in using Access? And if so can I use it in the mean
time while I learn to do what needs to be done.

Are there any Access driven web sites out there I can look at?
Thank you

Yes you can use Access database for what you need.

Here is the catch. In order to pull data from a table, you need to use some
form of ASP pages or data access pages.

Data access pages is good provided that you want to display the entire
table, which I seriously doubt that you want to do.

checkout wildfreedom.com. This uses access database with ASP pages. It
also have some data encryption for passwords, private sites with
username/password, etc.
