C-Media sound card

I installed Win XP and am having audio problems. The
unit will play music using Windows Media Player, but will
not play system sounds. I downloaded the latest driver,
but it does work. I've checked and re-checked settings,
and they all seem to be OK. Any ideas?

In BIOS, have you disabled the Post Reporter?
