c drive missing after disk cleanup

I ran disk clean up after installing IE8 and computer running really slow.
During cleanup, I was getting messages about windows files being replaced by
unrecognized files. It wanted me to insert the Windows installation cd, which
I couldn't find. I clicked for more info and it said possible problems were
unregistered Windows files, or cd-rom not working properly. I did have some
trouble with my cd-rom a couple months ago, so I figured that it was no big
deal. I clicked continue, it asked me to confirm and said that it might cause
Windows to become unstable. I clicked continue anyway...big mistake, I guess.
This happened a couple more times until it finished cleaning the hard disk up
(way more cleaning than I wanted!). Now it says that it cannot find the c
drive. Everything looks like it's there when I type C: in the run box, but
when I click on any of the folders, they don't open. Please help! Thank you.
