BULLETS INDENT!

I have been trying to figure this out for days!
Im in University, and the way that I take notes on my computer is very
important to my learning style.
I bullet everything! and what I would normalling do is insert my bullet, and
when I am adding information underneath i would press enter (to get a new
bullet) and press tab to get one that is indended somewhat.. like this:
- My orignial topic
- and my indended tab that i usually press tab and get
I am now simple just getting indents! like...
- this....
PLEASE PLEASE ... ANYONE THAT CAN HELP!!! IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE!

Word 2000 or earlier: Tools | Options | Edit: "Tabs and backspace set left
indent"

Word 2002 or 2003: Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type:
"Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces"

Word 2007: Office Button | Word Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options |
AutoFormat As You Type: "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and
backspaces"
