tab doesnt work for indent in outline

Whenever I used to make an outline, I could use my tab key to indent the
bullet. Now my tab key doesnt work for this and I always have to go press
increase indent. Does anyone know how to restore the tab key for indenting a
bullet?

What version of Word? If Word 2007, try Word Options - Proofing tab -
AutoCorrect Options - AutoFormat As You Type tab... and enable "Set left-
and first-indent with tabs and backspaces".
