Ok, I ordered the initial thread starter package with remote
it cost £10.99 + New Box £1.99 + £5.99 p/p =£18.97

It Arrived in a box (lol) a bit tatty but a box, the new box, and when i opened it it had a cover, Front/Back/Side panels and a remote control . When i opened the casing everything seemed to be there except the HDD. A 4 pin molex and a 40 pin IDE Cable were present so its seems all it needs is a HDD

Looking good :thumb:

If that package was still available for that price I think I'd have bought one whether I needed one or not - bargain.

I'll be interested to see how you get on with it :)

The reason i got one was i already have a Tesco £120 one in the bedroom and its full of Footy, Horizon, Ice road Truckers and all the great Freeview stuff and it has a 160Gb HD giving over 70hrs of telly and its FREE...so what the heck Kids might as well have one to as theres a digital aerial connected to their bedrooms...for the future ..Charlottes OK but Aarons only 3..

Ok, can you just answer coupla questions for me Rush.

Yours looks to be complete with case lid and front panel yet they offer those two items for sale seperately. And the pic at their site looks as if those items are included. Are they?

When you say new box do you mean the cardboard box it comes in? Cos I don't think I'd need one of those unless I was going to sell it.

I have a spare 160Gb PAT HDD, so if I just ordered the unit, downloaded the manual and bunged 2 x AA cells in the remote, would I be good to go?

Why i dont know ..it had me perplexed till it arrived though

I ordered the £10.99 one as linked ..it came complete except for the HD , i have ordered another except this time without the New Box...so as latest link suggests , everything except HD and batteries for remote for £16.98

Reading the advert through it seems that the case , front and new box are for sale so that you can use them to re-brand the thing for re-sale .

OMG I have a new consience whispering in my ear

Well, ok, let's put it this way.

I didn't go to the pub this evening so I saved £17.00 (in fact I haven't been to the pub for six days now  )

The PVR will make a nice partner for the proposed TV.

The geek in me loves a techie bargain, I just had to try this.

But other than those feeble excuses you're right!

I am not worthy, beat me, thrash me and assault me with a soggy basket of vegetables

Where's that Piggy bank...

If you have a video capture device and software, yes.

Snap, almost. I can get about six TV channels and about twenty radio stations, including some obscure Asian programs.

Where I live atm is the absolute worst signal spot in all of London, being at the bottom of the Thames Valley.

But, hopefully, I'll be moving soon.

And I ain't subscribing to Sky, Virgin or any other blood-sucker.

Ditto.

Though in my case it'a lockup full of toot :)

I am slowly whittling it down though.

One of life's surprises that, realising what you thought was valuable is in fact a worthless pile of poo poo :)

There hasn't been a good TV signal here for as long as I can remember. Digital is better than analogue but still not good.

Phone? I'm with Virgin atm and coverage is fine.

Had 02 for a year and the coverage for them is rubbish. Before that Orange, their coverage here was good.
