Buffering of videos, transfer of attachments

I have two computers, one is a lap top, that run on XP Home. I use Avasti as
my security program. The problem that I am having is watching videos, like
from YouTube and transfering music from one computer to the other. I have
absolutely no problem in watching anything from YouTube on my lap top but the
desktop has buffering issues. It stutters and re-buffers the video loop. I
check to make sure the settings were the same on both computers, and they
are. I have also turned off the security settings on the desktop to see if
that would help, it didn't. The only thing I didn't disable was PC Doctor, i
use for spam and such. The only problem is it is the same as for the laptop.
iTunes has a new feature where you can share music libraries on the same
network. I have no problem transferring songs from the desktop to my laptop
but in reverse it bogs down and takes forever. Anything I should check for
that I might be missing? I defrag all the time and always keep my temp files
deleted. I must be missing something on the desktop but can't figure it out.
Thanks

Avast! (not Avasti) is not a security program. It's an anti-virus
program. It doesn't protect you against spyware. It's an excellent
choice.

You say below that you also run PC Doctor, which does protect against
spyware, however it is *not* a good choice. The two best anti-spyware
programs are MalwareBytes AntiMalware and SuperAntiSpyware (freeware
versions of both are available), and I recommend that you install and
use them both instead of PC Doctor.

I can't tell from your description of the problem, but a spyware
infection is certainly a possible cause.

Thanks for your reply and I disagree with your choices of spyware. I haven't
heard of any of them and have used PC Doctor for many years and have had no
problems. Obviously that is your choices. yes I did make a mistake in
refering Avast as a spyware program. I do not think that is a problem since I
disabled it completely and still had problems. I think my problem lies in the
registry and I need to go in and clean out unnecessary start ups and such.
PC Doctor is an excellent choice and I would recommend it to anyone over
unknown programs. Thanks again though
