I cannot get to this screen to stay up and it briefly shows itself then goes
off the so I cannot get the actual error code. I have tried ctl+esc and as
well windows key + pause key. My keys do not work on my laptop it keeps
stays in starting mode and hanging/loop. The only screen I can actually get
is the system set up. Do not have access to my start menu or anything else.
Please advise if anyone can. Thanks.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Keep pressing the F8
key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on
system failure.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure. Check for variants of
the Stop Error message.

Also watch the sequence of messages when you attempt to boot. In particular
is the BIOS failing to detect one or more hard drives? This link describes
the sequence of stages when a computer boots.

What computer make and model?

Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration?

Also try another Safe Mode option
Enable VGA Mode: This option starts Windows in 640 x 480 mode by using
the current video driver (not Vga.sys).

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

Hi Gerry,
I am at work now but will try all your suggestions tonight when I get home.
I have a Toshiba laptop M45 and running Norton virus. Excuse me if I don't
answer technically correct as I am not familair with all the lingo and
acroyns. Just found out what the BSOD was yesterday. all the forums I've
been to points to someone try to download Roxio Creator on my laptop and it
is not compatible with XP. Laptop was working find before they used it. I'm
hoping it's simple and not too complicated. Will check in tomorrow once I
perform your instructions. Thanks.

Hi Gerry,
Sorry to say I am a novice at this so if you can please give me step by step
instructions. I was able to get the BSOD to stay up based on your
instructions but it was totally by accident :). Anyway I was lost after that
I have no idea how to proceed or get my start menu to come up so I can at
least see and delete the alleged software that I believe is causing the
problem Roxio CD Creater.
Error codes were: 0X000000ED, 0X82378E30, 0XC0000006, 0X00000000, 0X00000000
I went to the site you gave me and don't know what I am looking for with
BIOS. So if you can walk me thru the steps it would be appreciated. Thanks.
