Browser stops responding....or does it?

I've had DSL through Yahoo/SBC for roughly a year now.
About 8 months ago it started randomly "stalling" its
connection (according to the taskbar). However, if Im
downloading(updates, files, etc), those downloads remain
unaffected, its only my browser which stops responding. It
happens every 5-10 minutes and lasts about 30 seconds, my
browser then goes back to normal and continues on to
whatever I was doing. Does anyone know what this is?!?!!?
Is it my DSL, is it my Browser, or is it my setup(im
hooked directly to the DSL modmem). Any help would be
appreciated.
