browser slows after being logged on for a while

If I leave my SBC Yahoo DSL connection up when I go to bed, the next morning
my browser is painfully slow. I've run Norton to check for viruses and
spyware etc so that's not it. What might this be?
 
Hi Amy,

Do you have a router or a firewall? If not it's possible
you have a virus that will prevent Norton from detecting
it...
