Your graphics drivers *might* have a means of additional adjustment - go
to Control Panel - Display - Settings, click Advanced and look around.
For ATI cards there is a Color page where there is a brightness slider
that does a bit - also a Gamma one which has quite an effect if you
increase above 1.00
