Stop auto dimming

I have a hp 6730b and am trying to stop the auto dimming of the screen when I unplug the power cord.

Could not find anything on the power options.

Pressing Function + F10 is supposed to increase brightness, but it doesn't work for some reason.

Brain fog on my part I guess. :-0

Odd... both my old Toshiba and new Lenovo have very
involved power settings for just about everything.
If you can't stop auto dimming, then set it to dim
to the brightest setting.

Me too, apparently. Why would the monitor *NOT* dim (go black) if it has no
power?

In my Power Options, I have a setting to "Adjust Display Brightness" with a
separate setting for "On Battery" and "Plugged In". I have the "On Battery"
setting to full brightness so it doesn't dim when unplugged. You may want
to recheck your Power Options for something along those lines.

IIRC, you need to set a power scheme for when operating on battery that sets the
display the way you like.

The only options for a power scheme are hibernation, and turning on/off the monitor and hard drive.
