Bootvis

After reading an article in Maximum PC I decided to try to
use Bootvis to see if I could optimize my boot times.
Noticed it wasn't supported by Microsoft anymore but found
a link at Majorgeeks.com.
The first time I had bootvis just optimize my start-up and
everything seemed fine. Then as according to the article I
reran Bootvis so that it could show me which programs were
slowing down my boot times. Thats when my problem started.
My computer will not boot!! It shows the P4 flash screen
and then stops. The fans are still running but that's all.
I cannot even get into safe mode.

Any help would be appreciated. I do not want to reformat
that drive since I have alot of valuable photos on it.

My System:
P4 3.0
1 Gig of Rambus memory
2 Maxtor 120G hardrives
ATI All in One 9700

That is the reason they removed it, It is known to corrupt
your system. It is a developers tool not for the end user.

I read the same article, got it and ran it, and had no
problems at all. It really did shorten the load time.

I'm using an AMD cpu and asus mobo.

I think the reason MS pulled the plug on this utility was due to an
incompatibility with hyper threading. If you can still get into your BIOS
settings you might want to try disabling HT & see what happens. Best of
luck!
