Fine tuning of boot for Windows XP

I am running Windows XP SP2. Please help me the fine tuning parameters and
process to optimize the time required while booting Windows XP.

I tried bootvis but that did not help me much. Currently, my system takes
around 1-2 mins to become completely operational.

Try to check your boot.ini [notepad]

There are no such "fine tuning parameters". A fresh WinXP installation
usually boots within 20-30 seconds. If there is an increase (1-2 mins)
you should remember your system changes prior to that increase.

If there is any Norton/Symantec software installed, just uninstall this
software. If there is a LAN/WLAN network installed, it might help to
assign a fix TCP/IP address to the network adapter. You may also want
to check to programs loading on startup (MSCONFIG > Startup tab).

try this site http://www.blackviper.com/ I would suggest you ignore the
suggestion of checking your boot.ini all this does is inform windows which
os to boot from and its location, should you edit it and get it wrong windows
may no longer boot

good luck
