bootable floppy and/or cd

Hello,

What is a bootable cd? Is it a blank cdrw? Is it the Windows cd that came
with the computer? Just what is a bootable cd; I recently tried to back up my
4700c but after waiting the 2 hours for the thing to complete I found that I
had to copy everything to a floppy? The 4700 does not have a floppy drive -
only a cd/dvdrw drive. What's really happening here?

Thank You

It is one which contains an operating system and the programs needed to load
the system.

See the documentation that came with the computer.

You have run aground on the limitations of Ntbackup. This program will
backup to a file on a disk drive or to a floppy. If you wish to create a
backup on a cd or dvd, you will need applications such as Nero or EasyCD
Creator. The native cd software that is supplied with XP will not save a
file which spans several disks. There is no native support for dvd writing.
