Boot up program

Hi,

An internet search box keeps hovering where the date is, at the bottom right
corner of the screen. I can only turn it off by opening the program manager
and selecting 'end task'. This program (that makes the search box appear)
runs automatically when my PC starts up. I think you used to simply edit the
autoexec file to get rid of these programs, but can anyone tell me how you do
it now?

Thanks - Gary.

airkraven

got to your start menu and click on 'Run'

Type in: MSConfig

Go through the tabs, it'll prolly be in the startup tab, untill you
find the executible that starts that program. Then simply uncheck the
box next to it. Click the 'Apply' button and exit the program.

The next time you turn on your computer, it should be gone.

Truly,

Hi Gary

Please try these programs as well to check for any spyware that may be on
your
system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://forum.aumha.org/downloads/cwshredder.zip

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:
