According to my wife, my 4 year old was playing a game and started clicking
stuff after the game was closed. Now my box will only boot to a black screen
with a mouse pointer. I've tried the following:
-Normal (black screen/ mouse pointer)
-safe mode (and variations - command prompt, network - all resulted in black
screen with "Safe mode" in corners")
-Windows Recovery console (stops at c:\Windows prompt)
-Windows Repair (setup runs, but after reboot, black screen still)
When running Windows setup, the screen displays fine, so it's not the
monitor. Any ideas as what is causing this? I'd prefer not to have to
reinstall everything again.
