Hello Irv,

This is probably happening because you have the box checked to notify you
about "Changes made to your computer by software that is allowed to run".
What you're seeing specifically is the WinDefend service updating the
scheduled scan jobs, which is nºrmªl.

Please take some time and read the Help file.

For the benefit of the community reading this post, please rate the pºst.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

Under Tools, Allowed Items, there is nothing in the box. I can find no place
that says "hanges made to your computer by software that is allowed to run".
What am I missing?

Tools/Options- scroll all the way down till you see "Real Time Protection
Options"
keep going down till you see "choose If Windows Defender Should Notify You
About"
you will see to lines - the second one is the one you want to uncheck

MAKE SURE YOU SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN
I made the same mistake and did not realize there is more in Options

I spoke to soon. Unless I uncheck the first item, “When changes are
detected from software that has not yet been classified†it keeps appearing.
I keep on marking it to “Allowâ€, but it does no good.

After making the change, do you click on the SAVE button at the bottom?
