Blue Screen

Hello all,

I have a Windows XP client using Remote Desktop to connect to several
Windows 2000 Terminal Servers. I can connect to all but one server without
issue. However, here's the strange part. If I try to login to that server
with my username, I get a blank blue screen and only see the mouse. However,
if I log into that same server with the 'Administrator' or any other account,
there's no issues.

Any idea what might cause this?

Any tips on fixing this? I'm going to search the knowledge base now, but
want to have any bases covered that I can.

Thanks

Backup the user's profile, rename or delete it, then logon as that user and
see if the problem exists with a new profile.

Just tried that, also tried to delete it from 'User Profiles' by right
clicking 'My Computer' and it doesn't allow me to delete.

I then tried what you suggested, and it claims that NTUSER is still in use
and can't be deleted, yet I am not logged into that system under the username
in question, from what I can tell.

You'll need to reboot the server to free that file. I'd also suggest loading
UHPCleanup Service on the TS to help prevent this from happening in the
future.

Not sure what's up with it, but I have restarted the server over the weekend,
and am still unable to delete the user profile that is jammed up. I followed
some steps that I found online, but I still can't get rid of the NTUSER file
in the Documents and Settings directory.

So, is there any other way to delete a profile such as this, or manually
corrupt the profile to cause 2k server to recreate it?

Nevermind this post... I just found out that our Other server was rebooted,
not this one..... gotta love it when you misunderstand what happens to your
server. At least this one's not the mission critical one.
