Blue screen of death.....

I have suffered another fatal exception. I was using IE6 just after
downloading Real Player, which worked OK, and received the following
error message:

0E at 0028:C0005257 in VXD VMM(01) + 00004257. I am running Win98SE
and I had adjusted my screen display to 24 bit. That was the sequence
of events.

Any clues on what this means and how I can fix it?

If your machine has a Restore option, use it and choose a point prior to the
Real Player installation.

Real Player is your issue.

Assuming this wasn't more than a few days ago you can use scanreg/restore to
go back to a registry before Real Player trashed things. You can start
Registry Checker by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, pointing to
Accessories, pointing to System Tools, clicking System Information, and on
the Tools menu, clicking Registry Checker.

Does this issue occur every time you adjust your screen display to 24-bit? I
have seen a very similar message to this when using an incompatible video
driver. Please make sure you have the latest video driver installed for your
video adapter. If that doesn't solve the problem, do you have a different
video card you can try so you can try to narrow down this issue?
