Blank screen

Can some please help me...

I was working on my laptop when the screen just went blank...

I turned it off and restarted it and i got the blue welcome screen but then
the desktop didnt show up... I then managed to turn it into standby mode by
using the (Fn) button and then when I restarted it the screen worked fine...
but after a while it just went blank again...

have i problems with the screen driver or is the screen on the blink...? any
help wld be most grateful...

I started my comp up this morning and I got the WIndows XP screen and then
it went blank again... I have linked it upto a destop monitor and it works
fine although I can see it faintly on my laptop screen... Wld u suggest
re-installing the drive for the laptop or can u suggest anything else...?
