Okay this one's got me stumped.

It's happened on Windows 2000 servers and workstations.
Basically the computer's fine for around 24-48 hours,
after which the following happens:

.. I am still able to ping domains and IP numbers
.. Internet explorer stops being able to browse sites
.. Other internet programs stop working (for instance our
POP software stops being able to connect)
.. Unable to access other computers on the network
.. Other computers are still able to access in, and I can
successfully make a remote connection and administrate
the PC from another PC.
.. A reboot fixes the problem for another day or so.

My thoughts are that it is something external to the
computer as we have reinstalled/put new computers on.
Also, it doesn't happen to every computer. But what
could cause this to happen. What service/protocol do IE
and other internet programs use that would not affect
Ping?

Help.

Have you checked your network for viruses, adware or spyware?
