run services.msc try to turn on auto updates properties try to set to
automatic get pop up acess denied check bits also try to set to auto get pop
up error2 system cannot find file specified ???? winxp pro 32 (x86)
trying to get spk3 installed ran malware tool 3-4 x's also manuly in stalled
many updates most installed ok but update site get the error msg for both
these issues to be turned on had also tried using one care live temp
uninstalled thinking it was componding problem but no luck so I just
purchased a new version of norton av with spyware 09 but not installed yet
till these issues are corrected so it can work properly if sys may need be
corupted possibly by this conficker was there but malware said on rerun it's
notl it might still have keys blocking or other things in regsrty?? any
sugestion as I hate messin with regsrty area if at all possible

There is a very good chance that you are seeing the affects of a hijackware
infection.

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:

NB: Run the FULL scan, not the QUICK scan!

2. WinXP ONLY!! => Run the Windows Live Safety Center's 'Protection' scan
(only!) in Safe Mode with Networking, if need be:

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum, not here.
