BIOS Update

I have received an email notice from my computer
manufacturer of a BIOS update available. Can anyone tell me
what a BIOS update is, and why I need it?

It is the low level software used by your motherboard to communicate with
the hardware on your PC

It may be needed for example if there is A PROBLEM with your board
recognising certain ram types/configurations etc.

The BIOS update information should tell you what it is fixing/improving so
if it doesn't affect you there is no need to update.

If you aren't having any problems do not attempt a BIOS upgrade. This may
well be a virus or worm. If you don't know what a BIOS update is DO NOT
attempt to do it. One wrong move and you end up with a unusable computer.
