Big Trouble

I need help.

I restarted my computer last night and got to the Windows xp home boot
screen, the coputer restarted itself and then went to the start up
recovery menu. I then tried to start in all the safe modes, tried the
last known good and still get to the boot screen and the cycle starts
all over again.

I have a bad feeling something really bad has happened.
It is an HP pavillion if that is needed.

Please let ma know if any other info is needed.

Which version of XP are you using - SP1/1a or SP2? What were you doing just
prior to the restart?

If you can't get it going in safe-mode then yes you do have a problem. Try
opening it up and pulling all of your ad-in cards except the video card (of
course) and booting up.
