ok heres my problem i jus formated everythin off my
computer n found that my windows xp cd is broken is there
a way i could order a new one without havein to buy a new
liscene from microsoft???

borrow someone elses installation cd and use your own product ID number
during the installation. It might be a good idea to do a copy of that
installation cd while you're at it. As long as the product ID you enter at
the start of the new installation is the one that was supplied to you, you
are not violating copyright law.

The only problem with this is if it is an OEM CD (for distribution only with
a new computer or hardware on the label). If it is a generic OEM CD what
you suggest will work. If it is a bios locked OEM CD it will not work
unless it is from the same computer manufacturer. If the CD is one directly
from Microsoft, you can obtain a replacement at

I personally suggest you to get a copy from your friends.
You have already had a COA label on your PC and a good product key.

If it's an OEM version you will need to contact the vendor you got it
from.
