I reinstalled windows xp after a crash.Than I restored
from windows xp backup program several files but these
will not open after restoring.
Any suggestions?

go back to the restore panel and check those files and try
them again. I have done it, sometimes they are corrupt on
the restore , nothing you can do about that or if you're
lucky it was just the transfer.
