Backup Utility CD path

When attempting to use the XP Backup Utility to back up files to my CD drive
I get this message:

The backup file name could not be used.
"E:\Backup.bkf"
Please ensure it is a valid path, and that you have sufficient access.

I am logged on as an administrator (my PC is a stand alone setup) and
sharing is turned on in the CD properties dialog. I can write directly to
the CD using Windows Explorer and the Write to CD task. Anyone have an idea
of what is causing this?

Thanks

The XP Backup program is not able to backup directly to CD. You
need to first save the backup file to your hard drive and then
burn it to a CD.

The XP Backup Utility does not support creating backups directly to CD.
You'll need to backup to some other place first, and then use a
different utility to copy the backup file to CD.

To backup directly to CD you need to have "packet writing" software
installed. This is a part of both Easy Media Creator from Roxio (called Drag
to Disk) and Nero Burning software (called InCD). When once it is installed,
you can backup directly to the CD, just as if the CD were another hard
drive.

However, since the OP is using the XP NTBackup utlity, it is important
to note that you can't span CDs. So if the backup won't fit neatly
onto one CDR(W), then you might as well not even bother.
