in anticipation of changing out my mother board. Now that my new mother
board is in place, can I use the restore feature to reload xp on my pc?

As you might guess, I had to reload xp on my C: drive for my pc to work.

Do you think the backed up data will load OK using the new mother board?

Well.. Just like you could have done (to avoid reinstalling) when you
changed motherboards, you will have to do if the restore works..
