Hard drive

I purchase a new mother board and tried to install my existing hard drive in
it and it does not reconize XP PRO SP2 that is on it( I have SP1 and down
loaded SP2) it gives me a stop error 0X0000007E (0X0000005, 0X1761360DF,
0X17B02208, OXF7B01F08) PCI.SYS F76B60BF BASE AT F76AF000 DATE STAMP
3B7D855C When I call the Mother board MFR they say I need to boot from the
the XP PRO SP2 CD the problem is that my XP Pro is SP1 is there some kind of
boot down load to help me or any kind of help

I am not sure why the MFR is say SP2 is needed. At the least you need to do
a repair install with a CD that has the same SP as is installed on the hard
drive. See this link.

If that doesn't do it then you'll have to do a clean install of the OS and
reinstall the apps from the original media. If you install to a new drive,
then install the old drive as a slave drive and copy over the data.

Ahh sorry I misread your post. The installation on the drive is SP2 but
your CD is SP1, is that correct? If so create a slipstreamed installation
CD that has SP2 on it. Autostreamer makes it easier. You'll need to
download the full installation package of SP2 to do the slipstreaming.
