AVI file imported as clip not complete

Hello

When I import an AVI file into windows moviemaker, longer then 18 seconds,
the imported clip is only 18 seconds long. The orginal AVI-file is for
instance 34 seconds and in explorer it gives the right lenght. I've tried for
instance not to make clips when capturing the video or clip, but nothing
seems to help. Is there a maximum filesize for a videofragment in AVI-format
or is something else wrong?

I'm using a Sony camcorder, connected with firewire, but as said, the
orginal file on the harddrive is complete.

Who knows the solution?

Thanks for the reply. After opening it in wm-encoder it imported well in
windows movie maker. I don't know how but it worked. Thanks very much

Hi!
I had the same problem.
So I downloaded the programs and tried to open my 28 seconds AVI-file with
"Windows Media File Editor", but it opens only wmv files.
Anyway, how can I reindex a file? Is it saving the file with the same name?
Thanks a lot Wojo!
