importing avi files

I am importing short avi clips that I saved using quicktime. Some are working
fine, but most of the time, no matter the actual length of the clip, movie
maker is only importing 1.97 seconds of the clip.

Any ideas on what might be happening?

I'm having exactly the same problem except WMM only imports 1:45 of the
clips. Somebody please help us. Thanks,

Where is the video coming from originally? I was taking video clips from my
cell phone, converting them to avi through quicktime and then imoprting them.
I tried deleting the files, reconverting them and then importing and it fixed
it...

avi files are coming from digital camera. They are stored in My Videos
folder and imported to WMM.
