Autorun

how can i completly disable autorun of everything??

I've gone through the drive settings for my cd drives and set each one to
"do nothing" for each kind of disc that is inserted but it still pops up
when i put things in, even if i check the remember decision checkbox. When i
plug in my jump drive too, I don't want anything to pop up anymore.

Anyone got any suggestions other then to go to properties of each removable
storage device and click do nothin because it doesn't remeber it.

Download and install TweakUI. It's available here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Go here to start the download:

http://download.microsoft.com/downl...a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed, expand the My Computer section.
Expand the Autoplay section and click on Types.
Remove the check marks from both entries in the "Autoplay Drive
Types" box.
Go back to the left hand column and click on Drives.
Remove the check marks next to all the drives you want to prevent
using Autoplay.
