Removable Storage Autorun missing

I no longer get the removable storage autorun when I plug in a compact flash
or SD card into the card reader (asking I wanted to do with the files.) I
can still access the drives through my computer, but I want to get the
autorun restarted. Any suggestions?

Hi,

In My Computer, right-click on the drive and click on Properties.
Click the AutoPlay tab and for each file type in the drop-down box
click the radio button at the bottom "Prompt me each time...".

Thanks for your suggestion, however I have done that for each of the drives
and restarted the computer, but the autorun still does not initialize.

Hello, Hello!

Thanks for the utility link. I downloaded and ran the program on the
removable drives giving me trouble (I don't have removable cards for all the
drives). Here is the result for each drive I scanned: "This AutoPlay
setting cannot be fixed. Either the device is malfunctioning, or the wizard
cannot determine the problem" I can manually select autoplay for each drive
by right clicking on the drive in MyComputer. But it still will not start on
it's own. Not a huge problem, but I'm wondering if there is a larger problem
involved.

Another possible fix:

Download and install Microsoft's TweakUI from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

You want the 147KB version - scroll down on the right.

Run the program and go to My Computer => AutoPlay. Check all drives
and both types.
