Automatically shutting down of Computer

This is further info regarding my shut down problems, i.e., unit simply
shuts down and will not restart by power button, but I can unplug and
re-power unit and it will start up fine. I said I am researching. Have
discovered that, if I set up the power scheme, power down monitor (monitor
only, nothing else), then at the set time, the unit simply shuts down,
nothing will get it back up. But, have discovered that Windows is still
loaded, although cannot access, because have a time program that announces
time every 15 minutes (or what you select) and every 15 minutes I get a time
update. Have found out that I can start unit by power button if I hold the
button in for about 5-10 seconds, i.e., ANSI compliant, etc., and the power
will come on and Windows load fine. If I disable the power scheme and have
'none' unit remains on all day, does not power down, does not shut down.
Reactivate power scheme (monitor only, remember), unit 'appears' to turn off,
power down completely and mouse, keyboard will not bring it to life. You can
unplug cord, replug immediately, all works, or, as I have discovered, hold
power button in for 5-10 seconds, unit powers up. Suggestions????

Thought so to, but, mouse has no action, etc., and have to hold power button
down for 8-10 seconds before it will power on. So, suggestions??
