automatic name checking won't work

C

CD

Hi, I have tried everything before i post here,
i couldn't get the automatic name checking to work on cc, to, bcc

to be more specific,
automatic name checking option is on,
contacts not empty,

and basically i completed the following suggestions without problems:
Contacts are missing when I click the To, Cc, or Bcc buttons
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA102194281033.aspx?pid=CH100776981033

it'd seem like everything is set in the right way as they are supposed to be,
but still couldn't get it to work.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
CD.

If Contacts are "missing" when you click on the To: field, then you have not
followed the instructions correctly. Since we have no idea what you actually
did and what happened, we cannot provide further assistance.

CD

I think I've made it clear already, if there's anything else wrong I wouldn't
have come to here. Well, if you must need to know more details, its pretty
much like the page sugguests,
here are all the steps/details:

automatic name checking option is checked

folder list -> contacts -> properties
under Outlook Address Book tab
"show this folder as email address book"
check box is already selected, and greyed out

tools -> Account Settings -> address book tab
Outlook Address Book appears under name

tools -> Address Book -> tools -> options
Show this address list first, is set to "contacts"

I believe that's what the page sugguested as solution, down to last detail.

oh, and i'm using outlook 07, and exchange is not in the scope of this
problem.
contacts is working normally, and I have email addresses in contacts.
only that the to,cc,bcc still refuse to auto resolve.

any useful help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

CD.

You hadn't made it clear at all. Still haven't. There is more to your story.
The fact that you are using Outlook 2007 is news, but not good news.

I am having the same problem, but have found this thread to be useless thanks
to Russ Valentine.

What an arogant usless individual. If you have nothing to add, don't. When
you add a useless comment, such as you did, you waste everyone's time
because, first of all, we read your useless comment. And second, those who
could answer the question, think that the question has been answered (because
of the number of posts), and move on to the next unanswered question.

Creating a new profile will restore a corrupt connection between your
Contacts Folder and the Outlook Address Book Service. In fact it is the only
way to repair it in Outlook 2007. The solution works when done correctly. We

Wrong LVP. For some reason the programers of Outlook, haven't took into
account that many users use two monitors. Instead of poping up the contact
list in the same monitor, as almost all other programs do with their pop-ups,
Outlook sends the contact list to the extended monitor.
