Automatic Download of email Messages

Does anyone know how to tell outlook to only download messages when I click
the send/receive button. I just did a office re-install and now outlook
automatically downloads messages and I would like to turn this off. I am
using windows xp and office 2003. I cannot seem to find anything in the help
on this.

Just turn off automatic polling:
Tools > Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings... > Define Send/Receive
groups...
