auto-login for XP

T

TG

Recently I recieved the latest XP updates from the MS
updates site and my login 'changed' to the 'welcome
screen'. Before I downloaded the lastest updates, my
machine booted up straight to Windows with no user
selection or username/password prompt. I'm sure this is
a security setting, how can I go back to this auto-login,
I don't need a user selection etc, as I am the only user.
I just want my computer to boot up straight to Windows.

How to Enable Automatic Logon in Windows XP

Alternative:

Download and install TweakUI:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "Logon", click on "Autologon" and place a check
next to "Log on automatically at system startup", then click "apply".
