Auo Reconnect Mapped drives

K

Kenny

My network was Win2K (peer to peer Workgroup) only
machines until recently. I had all computers set to logon
as Adminsitrator with the same password. Win XP Home will
not allow me to use this user name. I have changed all
computers to a standard user name and password, however,
whenever I reboot a computer, I have to renter the
password for every mapped drive.

Can anyone help me with getting all mapped drives to
connect on thier own during reboot?

Thanks,
Kenny

Logon batch keeps asking for the password

Symptom: I use logon batch to map network drives when starting the computer.
The problem is that it always asks me for the password. How can I make that
it remembers the password?

Resolutions: 1. add the password into the logon batch, for example, net use
\\computername\shaed password.
2. If you are logging on a peer-to-peer workgroup, create the same user
account and password on remote computer.

I do have the same exact username & password on all
computers. The Win2K machines work fine. The XP-home
machines ask for a password for all mapped drives before
reconnecting.

Any other ideas why XP does this and how I can stop it?

Thanks,
Kenny
