reconnect mapped drive at startup

hello

i have a mapped drive to a shared folder on another PC on my network. every
time i reboot, i lose the connection. i open "my computer", it responds with
the ID/password prompt, after which i have a connected map drive.

how do i get my connection each time i reboot? the box for "reconnect at
startup" is checked for the mapped drive. it appears to have something to do
with my admin ID and password. however, my machine does not ask for this
info when i reboot.

thanks, john joslin

forgot to mention:

the logon machine is windows XP while the shared folder is on a PC running
windows 2000. does this have something to do with it?

Create an ordinary (non-admin) user on the W2000 machine with the same
name/password as the one which logs-on to the XP machine.

Now go to the share properties and add this user with read/write (change)
permisssions.
