Hi All,
I'm having a few problems with my audio,
it all started when i upgraded my motherboard and processor, what is happening is the sound becomes all crackely and distorted so i uninstall my hardware and drivers then do a re installed of the hardware with the newest drivers, that works fine for a few days then it all starts to happen again.
Gigabyte GA-K8VT800 PRO
AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Shapphire radeon 9550.
Creative sound blaster live! 24 bit.
2gb 400mhz DDR
80gb maxtor diamond.

This has been happening with the onboard ac97 as well, exactly the same thing. that is why i bought a soundblaster live to try and solve the problem..... but still no joy.

More often than not this is due to static from an uneccesary port.

Go into the sound manager and mute the AUX, MIC, Line-in, or any other jack pluggy thing that isn't in use.

EDIT: Did it work?!
