AUDIO CONTROLS (not Volume)

I'm not sure I understand. If you run sndvol32.exe, you get only the
'master' volume slider? This would be normal if the other sliders are
turned off.

You wish to see the other sliders? If this is the case, you should be able
to get to Options, Properties and check off the other sliders you need to
appear. And for me, the Maximize button is greyed out and the control
can't be resized, only minimized.

Please read prev post carefully...
Icons are not the problem.
The master volume slider is NOT the problem.
When you double click the volume control icon or run
sndvol32.exe or access via the Control Panel... NO window
appears. An "open window"
button appears in the Task Bar, clicking on it does not
max-or-min-imize any window. There is no window!!!
I need to get to the multiple input and output audio
controls in WinXP.

Where/How? Something has corrupted the audio control
panel and it is unable to APPEAR.

Thank you! Please help! -scs

Sounds like it may have corrupted window coordinates and it's 'positioned' off-screen. Try running
the control so you have a taskbar button, and, with at least one other program open, right-click the
taskbar and select 'Cascade Windows'

Great idea!!! Did NOT work, though!

And when I select the task bar button, the button image
refreshes as though the window were minimizing or
maximizing. Very strange. Any other ideas???

Are you saying that when you select it, the button takes on the color that indicates it is the
foreground window?

If so, try selecting it, then right-clicking it and selecting 'move'. If the mouse cursor changes
to a 4-way arrow & jumps to the edge of the screen, use the arrow keys to maneuver the window into
view, then press <enter>.
