Any advice on the following issue would be appreciated:
The output sound is low - if the speakers are plugged into another pc sound
volume is OK.
On the trouble pc I notice that in Control Panel > Sound & Audio Devices
Properties, device volume is low - if I move the slider to high there is no
increase in volume. If I leave it at high and apply when I exit control
panel and then go back to sound & audio devices the slider has reverted to
low.
If I go to Speaker volume both left & right speakers are low - I can move
both sliders to high but there is no increase in speaker volume. If I exit
control panel & go back to Speaker volume they have both reverted to low.
If I put a tick in Move all slide indicators at the same time the slider
movement is not synchronised.
There is no tick in mute box
There are no ticks in any of the mute boxes in Volume control
Using XP Pro SP2 on a Sony Viao desktop.
TIA
