I am unable to send photos from My Pictures. I use Outlook Express. I do
get the resizing dialog box, but after that, nothing happens. It used to
switch to my default e-mail program, create a new message window, and attach
my pictures to the e-mail message, but it no longer does this. Any ideas on
what happened? I did try
the go to start, run, and typed regsvr32 shimgvw.dll - that did not correct
the problem for me. I also tried fixing "sendmail.dll" - someone said that
may be corrupted - but that didn't work either. HELP!!

Hi Wolfie,

Which email client have you set as the default? For Outlook Express, run
these commands:

MSIMN.EXE /REG

and then run:

regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msoe.dll"

When I do this the pics are too big - mailing from My Pictures resized the
pics for easy sending/viewing.

I ran both. After running "regsvr32..." I received a message saying it
succeeded, however nothing has changed - it still doesn't work. Any other
ideas?

The resize window opens briefly, but then that's it. It doesn't bring up the
OE email. It's the exact same thing that happens when I use the File and
Folder Task.

that's not the problem. I also edited the Windows Registry per instructions,
but that didn't help either . . .

Wolfie,

Run these three commands:

reg export hkcr\mailto "%userprofile%\desktop\1.txt"
reg export hkcu\software\clients\mail "%userprofile%\desktop\2.txt"
reg export hklm\software\clients\mail "%userprofile%\desktop\3.txt"

Three files (1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt) will be created on the Desktop. Attach all
the three files in your reply.

Wolfie,

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\ddeexec]

Delete the "ddeexec" branch

Close Regedit.exe

If that does not help, post the contents of the file 3.txt.

Wolfie,

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\ddeexec]

Delete the "ddeexec" branch

Close Regedit.exe

If that does not help, post the contents of the file 3.txt.

Is it the "IncrediMail" thing that's causing the problem? Kids dowloaded

Wolfie,

Run these three commands:

reg export hkcr\mailto "%userprofile%\desktop\1.txt"
reg export hkcu\software\clients\mail "%userprofile%\desktop\2.txt"
reg export hklm\software\clients\mail "%userprofile%\desktop\3.txt"

Three files (1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt) will be created on the Desktop. Attach
all
the three files in your reply.

Followed all instructions - OE was registered as default email program, so
that's not the problem. I also edited the Windows Registry per
instructions,
but that didn't help either . . .

Wolfie,

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\ddeexec]

Delete the "ddeexec" branch

Close Regedit.exe

If that does not help, post the contents of the file 3.txt.

Is it the "IncrediMail" thing that's causing the problem? Kids dowloaded
it, but made them get rid of it long ago. Thanks again, Wolfie

Wolfie,

Run these three commands:

reg export hkcr\mailto "%userprofile%\desktop\1.txt"
reg export hkcu\software\clients\mail "%userprofile%\desktop\2.txt"
reg export hklm\software\clients\mail "%userprofile%\desktop\3.txt"

Three files (1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt) will be created on the Desktop. Attach
all
the three files in your reply.

Followed all instructions - OE was registered as default email program, so
that's not the problem. I also edited the Windows Registry per
instructions,
but that didn't help either . . .

Wolfie,

The mail client settings are correct, from what I see in the log.

Yes, think so. See if resetting that to "Outlook Express" helps. You can do
it via the GUI.

Right-click the Taskbar and choose Properties. From the Start menu tab,
click Customize, and choose "Outlook Express" from the E-mail listing.

Click OK, OK to close the dialogs.
