Emailing pictures from My Pictures

Hi
My friend is running Windows XP Professional and he can't email from My
Pictures / My Documents. When he right clicks on the picture he wants to
emails and selects "Send to" Email Recipient - nothing happens at all.

He has no problems with his emails using Outlook Express and can attach a
photo and send it that way. Outlook Express is set as the default email
application.

I got him to try doing Start, Run and regsvr32 shimgvw.dll and regsvr32
sendmail.dll but it has made no difference.

Any ideas?

In jackie had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

No really GOOD ideas other than to look at the send to folder and ensure the
email option is still set properly.

A couple of things...

A firewall might see that as the explorer.exe process running and trying to
send email - then block it silently, as might an AV application. The
explorer.exe process /shouldn't/ be sending email and when it does that's
often seen as something exploiting the system.

The link may be broken... http://kgiii.info/ignore/mail.zip (feel free to
examine it first) is a link that was on my system in my C:\Documents and
Settings\<my user>SendTo folder. They'll need to enable viewing of hidden
files and folders.

Send To Mail Recipient option does nothing
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/sendtomail.htm

There seems to be a number of fixes. Depends on the exact problem.
Here are a few fixes.
-----
Repair from David Candy

Start | Run | Type: regsvr32 sendmail | Click OK
-----

Send To Repair from Kelly

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 sendmail.dll
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsrv32 ole32
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsrv32 /i shell32

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Thank you both for your replies. I have sent my friend the instructions to
run the repair, but I haven't heard back yet if they worked or not.

Appreciate your time.
Thanks
Jackie
