Are Windows Vista betas still available?

I was wondering if Microsoft still had the beta versions of Vista available
for download? I'm currently running Vista Pre-RC1 because I lost my copy of
RC1 that I had previously downloaded.

If not, would someone be willing to send me their copy of RC1 or whatever
the latest beta version of Vista might be?

I'm not sure where your from but there's an australian website that has beta
copies of vista advertised
the site is http://www.comtrader.com.au
do a search on Vista and you'll find both RC1 and RC2 32 and 64 bit versions
including product keys
I hope this helps

Hi,

No, they are no longer available for download. Vista has been released in
finalized code to business, the consumer version will be out at the end of
January.

Microsoft doesn't have beta versions available for downloading once a
product is released to manufacturing (RTM)

Hi,

I'm guessing you can buy it on eBay. I've heard a lot of people
on this newsgroup comment on being able to buy these on eBay.

No, although there may be some less than reputable sites hosting pirated
downloads.
If you use them, do so with care as some have been deliberately altered and
not necessarily with your interests in mind.

A "google" search for "vista build 5744 torrent" should find you a P2P copy.

If the above is greek to you, nevermind! I'm not coaching you through it.

P.S. I don't see the harm in telling the guy this. The file is only useful
if you have a beta key and dies 5/31/07

Like others have said, you'll find it for sure on p2p including various
(modified) RTMs.

I was lucky enough to catch RC2 build 5744 when MSFT made it available for a
day or two for CPP and in retrospect found it to be very close to RTM. Your
Beta or RC key will work with it.

But be very careful downloading them from p2p. At the very least do an MD5
or CRC check on the download.

My copy was altered only by Microsoft. The darn fools went ahead and called
it Build 6000 and released it!

Just kidding (mostly).

Merry whatever ...

Interestingly, the Longhorn Server interim build just released to TechBeta
is build 6001.

I guess if you run a SAN, it would be "6001: A Space Odyssey."

Look, Windows Vista is out of Beta. You do not want a beta copy. Either you
can buy a new PC with an upgrade coupon to Vista in January 2007, or buy it
when its released to the general public on the same date. Trust me, you'll
be much happier.

Anyone out there have 5744 ISOs available and could send them to me? I've
tried downloading it using torrents, but the download speeds are so slow....
