Upgrading to RC1 from Beta 2

I never received the email from Microsoft about the availability of RC1, or
if I did, it got lost in Spam purgatory. Will MS be sending CD copies of RC1
as they did for Beta 2 when I ordered it months ago? If I download the RC1
iso file, will it just do an upgrade to RC1 or do I need to do another full
install of Vista? I current dual boot with XP on a thinkpad.

Your question is answered dozens of time in this newsgroup already. Next
time please scan the threads.

If you paid the shipping fee at the time you ordered Beta 2 you will
automatically get the dvd's for RC1 in the next few weeks. You may upgrade
build 5384 to RC1 but you may not upgrade between x86 and x64. Your Beta 2
product key will work with RC1 so you may download now. If you misplaced
the key and are using Vista x86 you can recover the product key with SIW,
http://www.gtopala.com/about_siw.html. Look under Software/Secrets. The
key does not display in x64 but x86 and x64 use the same key.

I did scan the threads first and didnt find anything, thank you for
answering. Plus, when I posted my original question, got a message saying it
never posted, though it did.

That is a known bug in the web-based newsreader. It gives a false error.
