Applications won't work after Windows 2000 install

I had about 100 applications installed in the folder
called "Program Files" that all worked fine. I had
Windows 98, and I just installed Windows 2000; now none
of those applications work. I urgently need to fix this.
Is there a quick solution?

If you installed as opposed to upgraded you will have to reinstall all Apps
from within win2K

I am not sure if I upgraded or installed, but all of the
files are there in the "Program Files" folder; they just
do not work.

If you have the dual boot option when starting yr sys, ie it gives you the
option starting Win98 or Win2K then it means yr apps were installed throu.
win98
If the sys boots straight into win2K ie you performed an upgrade/replaced yr
earlier o/s then they should work unless perhaps they were written for an
earlier o/s, or yr o/s was on a seperate partition/disk that was formatted
during the install
Is yr 'Program Folder' on the same disk/partition as yr o/s?
Personally I would'nt advise upgrading an o/s, but rather a clean install.
I would think you have no option than to reinstall yr apps
