Applications Don't work after install

I had about 100 applications installed in the folder
called "Program Files" that all worked fine. I had
Windows 98, and I just either upgraded or installed
Windows 2000; now when I click to open these
applications, they do not work. I urgently need to fix
this. Is there solution other than reinstalling all of
these programs?

Because an application worked in Win98, there is absolutely no implied
guarentee that the application should or will function in W2K. Part of the
upgrade process involves a software compatibility check. This is specially
true since all NT based operating systems use a hardware abstraction layer
and are not relying on DOS to function.

You might want to try W2K "compatibility mode" by using slayerui.dll.

If this doesn't solve the issue you should have followed the proper
procedure when considering the upgrade.

Maybe I need to say is there a way to relink the programs
becasue I know they work in both 98 and 2000. For example
Microsoft Word, Excel, Incredimail, Real Player, Acrobat
Reader, etc. When I go to add/remove programs The only
programs I can use are the basic ones that came on the
install CD (Explorer, Outlook, Acessories, etc.)
