Appearance of web pages

Can anyone help?

Web pages display banners , buttons and photographs as red blocks.
Eg Google header 9red block) , no photos in ebay (blank space). All buttons
on web pages are red blocks but placing cursor over them identifies and they
function. However links to other sites dont. have recently been in internet
options truying to make settings changes and think I've done the damage
myself.

Any ideas

The two most likely related areas (settings) are:
Tools > Internet Options... > Security > Internet > (Zone setting or) Custom
Level...
Tools > Internet Options... > Advanced
- Multimedia > Show image download placeholders (default unchecked)
- Show pictures (default checked)

It is helpful to make note of any settings you change before you change
them, and I recommend using <Alt> + <Print Screen> to capture the window in
the foreground. Paste the captured image into Start > Run > mspaint
(mspaint tip: set Image > Attributes... to 10 pixels x 10 pixels and your
screen captures will be as small as possible). This way you can always
change the altered settings back afterwards. Also, it is advisable to
change one setting at a time and verify whether that is the one that
achieves what you hoped.

I know this post may be a little late, like closing the gate after the horse
is out, but I thought I would offer it anyway.
